A family guesthouse in Kalamitsi since the early '90s

30+
Years of Hospitality
OUR STORY
Back in the early '90s, our grandfather Epameinondas Karydis started building this place with his bare hands. He wanted a home to share what he loved most: this corner of Lefkada, the smell of salt and olive wood, the slow pace of island life. He set it up high in Kalamitsi, above Agios Nikitas, where the Ionian breeze cools even the hottest August day.
His daughter Dionysia welcomed every guest with a smile, always available, always making sure everyone left happy. When she took over, she didn't change a thing, she simply carried it on the way she knew it. From her we learned that hospitality isn't a service you provide. It's just how you live.
Now it's our turn. In 2010 we renovated the rooms: proper beds, good bathrooms, and everything you actually need on holiday. But we kept what matters, the same house, the same view, the same way we welcome people.
We have 15 studios, each with its own kitchen, fridge and bathroom. Some sleep two, others up to four, so they suit both couples and families. The kitchen has everything you need to cook comfortably, and every studio comes with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and free parking right next to the building. The front studios face the sea, the Ionian and the sunset; the ones at the back face the sunrise, the mountain and the countryside.
In the afternoons, life gathers in the courtyard around the wooden tables and chairs, where you can enjoy the sunset with a coffee or a glass of wine.
Kalamitsi is a village above Agios Nikitas and below Chortata, with a cool climate even in the middle of summer. From here, some of the finest beaches on Lefkada's west coast, Kavalikiefta, Megali Petra, Avali and Gaidaros, are about 15 minutes away by car, while Kathisma is another 15 minutes in the opposite direction. The village sits at the point where one side of the island meets the other, making it ideal for anyone who wants to explore all of Lefkada.
This is still our family home. Most guests don't say goodbye. They say "see you next summer." We'd love for you to see why.
EXPLORE
Lefkada doesn't look like the rest of Greece, and that's the whole point. The water is almost too blue to be real, the cliffs drop straight into the sea, and the mountains stay green all year. Porto Katsiki is a 20-minute drive. The town of Lefkada is great for an evening stroll. Kalamitsi sits right in between: quiet enough to actually relax, close enough to everything worth seeing.
One of the most photographed beaches in the Mediterranean, with dramatic white cliffs and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
A refreshing natural waterfall nestled in lush green vegetation, perfect for a cool escape on a hot summer day.
The charming capital with its colorful streets, traditional tavernas, and the iconic floating bridge connecting the island to the mainland.
Explore hidden beaches, sea caves, and the nearby islands of Meganisi, Scorpios, and Ithaca by boat.
Our local beach is just minutes away, offering calm waters perfect for swimming and water sports.
The legendary Cape Lefkatas offers one of the most dramatic sunset views in all of Greece.
